The recent events in Russia, the Middle East, and Africa have been very disturbing. First, one of our ambassadors and the people with him were slaughtered in the American Embassy in Benghazi. Then Russia invaded the Ukraine. Not long ago, ISIS attacked a school in Africa and kidnapped all the girls for sexual slavery or worse. Now in Iraq, thousands of people are being slaughtered for refusing to convert to Islam. Christians are being persecuted and have had to flee from their homes, many of them being forced to watch while their wives and daughters are kidnapped and their children are beheaded and murdered in heinous ways. Is this the end?No. This is the beginning of many things to come. The world is in crisis, and we cannot ignore it any longer. Terror is on our own doorstep now. For generations America has been the defender of the weak, but our nation has been asleep. Birthed as a Christian nation, many have rejected the need for God in our American society and forgotten the principles that made America great, and that has made us vulnerable.
I had a disturbing prophetic dream years ago. I dreamed that I was at a party in an apartment with a balcony, and everyone was having a great time. I stepped out onto the balcony and saw a huge tidal wave coming our way, and out of the wave rode an angel on a horse. The angel climbed up to the balcony and came to me, warning me that the tidal wave was going to overtake the building and that everyone needed to repent quickly. I tried to warn them, but only a couple of people heeded the warning. The rest went back to their partying. When the tidal wave hit, those of us that listened to the warning were hit with waves and waves of His glory. The rest were washed away. That tidal wave represented the next wave of the Lord bringing both glory and judgment.
One evening in early 2000, I was talking to the Lord when suddenly I had a vision of the hand of God over America, pointing as in accusation. Then I heard the words, “You have been weighed in the balance and found wanting.” As soon as I heard those words, He opened His hand as though He was protecting the nation. Then He said, “But it’s not too late for America.” After that He told me to warn His people of coming judgment, and to call His people to repentance for falling away from their first love.
Less than a year later, we experienced the attack on our Twin Towers in New York. It was so devastating for all of us. I was in California at the time, visiting a friend who was a DJ at the KLove studio. When we arrived at the studio on the morning of September 11th, the news stations were all reporting about the first plane that hit the tower. Suddenly the second plane hit, and we realized that we were under some kind of attack and that it was not an accident. I remember wondering if we were under attack nationwide, and I’m sure many others wondered the same. It was so shocking that the nation was stunned, and my friend and I spent the day looking up comforting scriptures for her listeners.
The next day I drove to Redding to visit some people I knew from when I lived there. While I was on the road, the Lord told me so many things about the future, and why He had allowed this attack. He told me that He had lifted His hand of protection for just a moment, and that in that moment, evil that had been kept out of the nation was allowed to enter. Then I understood my vision about God pointing to America in judgment. The Lord had opened that window long enough for this horrendous attack to occur.
He had been speaking to me for years through the book of Jeremiah, showing me that if we didn’t turn back to Him as a nation, we would be like the Israelites who were taken to captivity for not heeding the warnings God sent to them through the prophet Isaiah. It was a sickening revelation when the Lord showed me that America was headed for the same cliff as the people of Judah.
For this is what the Lord says: ‘I will send terror upon you and all your friends, and you will watch as they are slaughtered by the swords of the enemy. I will hand the people of Judah over to the king of Babylon. He will take them captive to Babylon or run them through with the sword. And I will let your enemies plunder Jerusalem. All the famed treasures of the city—the precious jewels and gold and silver of your kings—will be carried off to Babylon. –Jeremiah 20:4-5 (NLT)
The people’s response to this warning was not good. They mocked, imprisoned, and beat Jeremiah for telling them truth they did not want to hear. His words fell on deaf ears, and he wept over the people. We know how that turned out. The people were captured by the Babylonian army.
My heart is torn as I watch the news and see the way America continues to reject God in increasing measures. What is even more gut-wrenching is to see the multitudes of people who go to church but don’t allow God to be the Lord of their lives. Christians; the people who are supposed to be so set apart and so holy and filled with love that those around them should be attracted to them. There are Christians that have that kind of dedication, but they are in the minority. In fact, they are often mocked, or told that they are “holier than thou”, or similarly ridiculed just because they love the Lord completely and live a holy, surrendered life.
In September of 2001 the Lord said that there would surely be another attack greater than 9-11. He said that the next major attack will be coordinated to hit 10 cities in the U.S. simultaneously, but that some of the plans would be found out and thwarted. He said that we were to pray fervently for the severity of the attacks and the loss of lives to be lessened. Then He told me that this will be the second wake up call for America. If we don’t turn after this, the third time will be full judgment and possible devastation for us all.
On September 8, 2014, the Lord spoke to me of imminent danger to Americans. There are terrorists in America waiting for the moment to attack. I don’t know if there will be smaller attacks before they do something big, but I believe ISIS will begin attacking Americans inside of our borders very soon, and we need to prepare ourselves for whatever is coming.
“Son of man, give the people of Israel this message: You are saying, ‘Our sins are heavy upon us; we are wasting away! How can we survive?’ As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die? –Ezekiel 33:10-11 (NLT)
There is a holy wind coming across America. This wind is going to bring both revival and judgment because this wind is a manifestation of His presence, bringing a tremendous wave of His glory to those who are deeply rooted in Him. His presence is Holy, and no sin can stand in His presence. This means that when this wind blows, everything that is not rooted solidly in Him will be uprooted in its path. Even those of us who go by His name if we let sin and self-will abide in us. It is not worth holding on to. We must surrender. We must take a hard look at our relationship with God according to His word, and not measure ourselves next to other Christians.
God will protect His faithful ones, but that does not automatically apply to anyone who calls themselves a Christian. If we don’t allow God to regularly show us areas in our lives where we are not surrendered so we can repent and be cleansed, then we are not fully submitted to Him. If we are not continuously seeking to live a holy life then we are vulnerable to the schemes of the enemy against us. The Old Testament is full of passages where the Lord tells His people that if they will obey Him and keep covenant with Him that they can expect to live in health, to prosper, and to be protected. It is so important that we remember this is a very serious battle, but it will only be won in the spirit before it is won in the natural realm.
For we [you] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. –Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)
Our nation and God’s people are on red alert, and time is running out. This battle will only be won on our knees, but first we must awaken to the warning that God has given us. Then we must surrender, repent for our own sin and for the sin of the nation. We must also remember that God’s kingdom is not about us, and He requires us to reach out to others who have needs of all kinds. Isaiah 61 says that when we do this we will see our own healing quickly appear.
Finally, we must stay alert, stay close to Him, stay in tune with His still, small, voice, and obey Him. He will warn us of danger so we can turn another way, change our plans, or whatever the moment calls for. It could save our lives and the lives of those around us. Beloved brethren, let’s examine ourselves. Do we keep our covenant with Him? Do we know what He considers Holy so we can live in a way that is pleasing to Him? Do we love the lost? Do we pray for America and our government as we should? Do we reach outside of ourselves to touch the lives of those who are in need or don’t know our wonderful Savior?
“No, this is the kind of fasting I want: Free those who are wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free, and remove the chains that bind people. Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.
“Then your salvation will come like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the LORD will protect you from behind. Then when you call, the LORD will answer. ‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply.
“Remove the heavy yoke of oppression. Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors! Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble.
Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.–Isaiah 58:6-11 (NLT)
My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, let’s make that shift and become the body of Christ that we are meant to be. Let’s shake off the sin, the complacency, and the dead works in our lives. Let’s turn this nation around by our dedication to God and our love for each other and for the people of this world. Let’s take a stand and push back against evil infiltration in our own nation and bring it down with prayer and righteousness. Let’s take action when action is needed, including in the political arena. Let’s not be afraid of what the people will say or what they will do when we boldly stand for God’s way in our schools, our government, our businesses, and all facets of our lives.
If we do these things, we will see a changed America. Hearts will turn. We will be able to count on the Lord’s protection over our nation once again, and we will be able to touch the world.

In 2008 I began writing the book that ultimately was titled, Red Alert America, Sound the Alarm!. I wrote it because God told me to warn His people so they could awaken before the judgment that is coming. It is a trumpet call to all of us, with many prophetic words that lead to where we are now. I encourage you to read because it is a very timely message that will give you a comprehensive understanding of what God is trying to say to His people.
