I hear the sound of the abundance of rain! We been experiencing extreme drought in many areas. In Texas, it is so bad that there are literally huge cracks in the ground. Streams have dried up, ponds are down to almost nothing. It’s been a long, very hot summer.
The other day I was praying, and I heard the Lord say that it is going to begin raining in September, so much so that some areas will have floods. Then He said that it is also a sign of a release of His ‘rain’ from heaven.
Some of you have been very faithful to wait upon the Lord even through the drought. It seems that everything has dried up; finances, work, even hope in some instances. But a remnant has remained steadfast and continued to be obedient, pressing in to His presence. You have waited for the release of promises. You have seen no fulfillment in the areas that you are filled with passion and promise, yet you have been faithful.
However, it’s about to rain! When you see the natural rain, know that there is a change coming. There is about to be a tremendous release upon us. Those who are thirsty will drink abundantly of Him. Promises are going to be fulfilled. Finances that have been blocked will be released.
Just before a rainstorm, you can often smell the rain in the atmosphere. It smells refreshing and fills you with anticipation of the downpour. I want to encourage you to take a few minutes, stop what you are doing, get into the presence of the Lord, and smell the fragrance of the abundance of rain.
Texas has experienced severe drought this year, and a good ground soaking has been desperately needed. Last night it rained and rained, until our creek rose so high it filled up a ravine and nearly flooded our chicken coop. A tree house that my son and his friend are building was nearly covered in water. Fence posts disappeared, and entire trees were floating in the flooded area with great speed. The flood is so beautiful, yet it can be deadly if we are not careful to stay on high ground.
Many of us have been crying out for a move of God in America, something so great that it would turn our nation around. But sometimes He shows up like a flood,and that flood washes everything away that is not solidly standing. All the junk in our lives is exposed, and if we are not standing on higher ground, we could be washed away.
Are we ready for the season of visitation that is upon us? He is answering our prayers, and we will see a tremendous flood of holiness wash through our lives. A mighty flood is coming that is so mighty, those who experience it will never be the same again. Most importantly, the rain represents the presence of the Lord, and nothing compares to being in His presence.
Another interesting thing happened. There was a rattlesnake trying to escape the flood water, and wound up in the branches of a tree. It was a bit scary to think of a rattlesnake over your head when you are walking around, but he became an easy target for the bullet that ended his life. There are all kinds of prophetic things we can get out of that, but what I see is profound. The enemy will be fleeing to escape the flood of God, but in the process he will be annihilated by the bride of Christ as she fully possesses her land.
Get ready, beloved Bride. The rain of His presence is upon us!
O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in your sanctuary
and gazed upon your power and glory.
3 Your unfailing love is better than life itself;
how I praise you!
